An action packed week to challenge the body and experience stunning scenery.
During this week of adventure you will experience a jet boat ride at Shotover river, a gondola ride up Ben Lomond Mountain and a boat cruise through the beautiful Milford Sound. We will get you out into remote areas of New Zealand’s South Island, hiking, biking and boating your way through the mountains and fjords through spectacular scenery. Our hikes take us into some of the beautiful backcountry, mountains ascents, glaciers and riding in the beautiful surrounds of Arrowtown. This is a side of New Zealand only few get the chance to experience.
General Trip Information
Accommodation: On this trip your clients will stay in comfortable 3-4 star hotel accomodation in Queenstown and lodge while in Te Anau.
Rooming is based on two people sharing a room with one or two beds, as required. Ifsomeone is travelling by themselves and would like to be guaranteed their own room for the duration of the trip, a single supplement rate will apply. Transportation: Since New Zealand isn’t quite small enough to simply walk everywhere and still see all the highlights in a limited amount of time, we travel by bus and our guides make the journey very informative and enjoyable. We pass the time spent on the road in a fun, social way, with New Zealand’s ever-changing scenery providing a feast for the eyes. Our focus, as always, is getting guests out of the vehicle and into the scenery.
Outdoor Experience: Our trips allow you to make the most of the New Zealand backcountry, whether they’re relatively new to hiking or a seasoned trekker. Our highly trained and experienced guides will be at their side, safely guiding into magnificent places that you wouldn’t get to on your own. The challenges are there, and all we ask is that your guests be energetic and in reasonable shape and we guarantee they’ll have an incredible time.
Included
The fare includes just about everything, specifically:
All guiding services. We have two guides per trip, a lead guide/driver and a co-guide.
Comfortable accommodation for the entire period you are with us. We can also organise pre and post-trip accommodation, if needed.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner on most days, as indicated, we cater for all dietary requirements. In places like Queenstown there’s a wide variety of restaurants and we’ve found people prefer to check out the options on their own. Alcohol is not included, although we do spring a few drinks here and there!
All activities described in the itineraries including hiking, biking and cruising Milford Sound.
All transportation from trip start to end.

The trip fare doesn’t include flights before or after your trip. Once you have arrived however, this is your all-inclusive vacation and there are no hidden costs.

Day 01
Arrive in Queenstown, Shotover Jet Boat Ride and Welcome Dinner
Flights from Australia usually arrive into Queenstown in the afternoon, so we will drop your bags to your accommodation, pop you straight on the bus and head to the beautiful Shotover river. It’s here we will set the scene for the week ahead with an adrenaline rushing Shotover jet boat ride. We will take you back to your accommodation allowing some time to get ready for your welcome dinner and briefing of what to expect from the next week of your action-packed adventure. Your guides will happily answer any questions you have.

Day 02
Hike Ben Lomond – 4-5 hours hikingToday, we will head to the top of Ben Lomond mountain, which towers over Queenstown. We’ll first take the gondola up to Bobs Peak to begin our hike, which steeply ascends up and up and up! The rewards are certainly worth the sweat though, because at the summit (1748m) you’ll feel on top of the world, with 360-degree views, and the potential for some snow and the odd cheeky alpine Kea hanging about. But remember, what goes up must come down, as we descend back down 1400m to Queenstown, so leave some energy in the tank for the way back! For those who want a lighter hiking option we can hike as far as the saddle, take in the awesome views and head back down to the skyline for an ice cream! The rest of the group will meet us for dinner later.

Day 03
Glenorchy Town and Routeburn Track Hike – 4-5 hours hiking
Today we are off to the top of the lake to a little town called Glenorchy- this drive is often rated one of the most scenic in the world and the views will knock your socks off! We’ll experience one of New Zealand’s most famous tracks, The Routeburn. This is classified as one of New Zealand’s Great walks- the trail is in excellent condition. We make our way along the well-formed track to Falls hut where we’ll have a tasty picnic lunch and soak in the views across the valley. After our walk we can check out the tiny little township of Glenorchy- it doesn’t get much more local than this, we might even have time a well-earned drink at the GY hotel before heading back towards Queenstown for dinner.

Day 04
Explore Wanaka. Rocky Mountain Hike -3-4 hours hiking
We start this morning by travelling over the Crowne range, New Zealand’s highest paved road towards Lake Wanaka to hike to the summit of Rocky Mountain. This is a great track with unsurpassed views from the top (775m) over Lake Wanaka and Glendhu Bay. There is also plenty of time to explore Wanaka town- there are many beautiful cafe’s and shops to wander through, the perfect place to pick up a handcrafted souvenir, or perhaps take a walk along the lakefront to get a snap of That Wanaka Tree. We will then head back into Queenstown for dinner. Tonight, we need to pack our bags as our last two nights will be in Te Anu.

Day 05
Historic Arrowtown- Bridges of Arrowtown Bike Ride
Today after a leisurely start we’ll hop on the bus with all our bags and head to beautiful little Arrowtown. This little town was home to a gold rush in the 1800’s and is home to many cute little shops and cafes. We will head down to the river and get on a bike (e-bikes will also be available) and ride the stunning Bridges of Arrowtown trail and beyond to finish our 20km ride at the Gibbston Valley Tavern. Gibbston Valley is famous for its stunning vineyards and beautiful scenery. This evening we stay on the outskirts of Fiordland National Park in Te Anau, ready for tomorrows awesome adventure!

Day 06
Milford Sound Boat Cruise and Hike Key Summit – 2-3 hours hiking
Today we have an early start to hit the road into Milford Sound. The scenery in this area is so stunning that even the drive there is spectacular! We’ll make stops at The Chasm, Mirror Lakes and The Eglington Valley. When we arrive in Milford Sound we’ll hop on board a boat for a scenic cruise. On the sound you’ll be awed by the immense size of the towering sea cliffs … remember to keep an eye out for seals, dolphins and penguins! This afternoon we’ll take a walk on the Routeburn track but from the other side to the view point of Key Summit, this hike takes us up past mirror tarns and we can see 360° views of the mountains and valleys that surround us- Tonight, It’s back to Te Anau for our final celebration dinner together and toast to the awesome week we’ve just had!

Day 07
Return to Queenstown, fly home
After breakfast, we travel back from Te Anau to Queenstown this morning in time for flights back to
Australia in the afternoon.
