Langtang Gosainkunda Trek is a fascinating and unique trekking destination in Nepal. This trek is situated in the Langtang region to the north of Kathmandu valley and bordering Tibet. This trek is the combination of Langtang Valley, Gosainkunda Lake trek, and Helambu trek with a less tourist flow.

Langtang Gosainkunda trek also known as Langtang Circuit Trek can trek whole round the year; however, the best months to trek are (March-May) and (September-November).

During the Janai Purnima festival in the month of August, every year thousands of Hindu pilgrims came here for worship and holy bath. Langtang Gosainkunda circuit trek is a moderate trek so, it is suitable for everyone & can complete without any difficulties.

Langtang Valley and Gosaikunda Trek Itinerary

Day 1

Today is your first day in the land of the Himalayas, Nepal. Your wonderful time started upon your Arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu. Our representative will warmly welcome and receive you at the Airport and transfer you with warm greetings.

Then you will be easy transfer to your respective hotels with our private vehicle as per your group size.

In the evening, you will be introduced to your trekking guide and have a briefing session where your guide will provide you with brief information regarding the Langtang Gosainkunda trek and make a trek preparation.

Day 2

Our first day of the trip starts with an early drive to our trek starting point at Syabrubeshi. Syabrubeshi is also known as the gateway to the Langtang region trek. The road takes us via the northwest part of Kathmandu valley following beautiful scenery and traditional village along the route.

En route we would be able to witness the superb panorama of the Himalayas, including the Annapurna, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, and Langtang ranges. After having quick lunch at Trishuli or Kalikasthan we move further towards the traditional village of Syabrubeshi.

Day 3

Trek from Syabrubeshi to Lama Hotel (2,480m/8,136 ft.) 5-6 hrs.

Today is the first day of our trekking in Langtang Gosainkunda trek. Our day begins after the breakfast at teahouse. We start our trek along with the Bhote Koshi River and trail passes through ups and down hills simultaneously through the dense rhododendron and oak forest.

Then we cross the bridge over Langtang Khola and ascend on a steep trail towards the Rimche village. After having lunch our trial leads us towards the Lama Hotel. En route to Lama Hotel if you are lucky enough you might see abundant wildlife such as Red Panda, Himalayan black bear, etc.

Day 4

Today we continue our day after having breakfast at Lama Hotel. Our trek continues ascending from Lama Hotel enjoying the mountain land along with the natural beauty of the Langtang region. Then we reach the green meadows of Ghoretabela.

After having lunch here we beings our trek to see the first occasional sights of pure white Mt. Langtang Lirung and its ranges. Our trail continues to climb up the widening valley, passing a few temporary settlements of Tamang, and old Buddhist monasteries to reach the beautiful Langtang village- the headquarters of the Langtang National Park.

Day 5

After breakfast, we will start our journey following the gradual uphill trial through small villages and yak meadows. Then we trek through the typical villages of Mundu and Singdum along the way.

Then we will be walking along with numerous Yaks grazing lands, small streams and rubble, water mills, prayer flags, chortens, with sacred mounds of rocks with inscriptions carved on them. We also pass by the largest mani wall in Nepal, made from stone with prayer mantras written on them.

Kyanjin Gompa is the oldest Buddhist monastery of the Langtang Gosainkunda trek.

Day 6

Today is one of the major days in Langtang circuit trekking. After a late breakfast, we will climb over Tserko RI for the spectacular 360 panoramic views of Langtang ranges along with other mighty peaks.

The trial to Tserko RI is long and difficult however reaching the top is rewarded with the wonder of nature where one will forget all tiredness and difficulties.

Then we back to Kyanjin Gompa in the late afternoon and explore the beautiful Buddhist monasteries around there. We also visit a traditional yak cheese factory, where yak cheeses are manufactured by hand.

Day 7

Our day begins with the breakfast at teahouse before starting descending towards the Lama Hotel. We follow the same trial that we have trekked already since there is no other route to Lama Hotel.

Most of our day descends downhill passing through Rhododendron and oak forests as well as charming mountain villages. Enjoying the spectacular views of the Himalayas we slowly back to Lama Hotel.

Lama Hotel is situated alongside of Langtang River where we will spend our night hearing the sound of the thundering river.

Day 8

After having breakfast at Lama Hotel, we begin our trek with a steep climb towards Rimche village. Then we descend to the bank of Langtang Khola and easy walk towards Bamboo village.

Giving continuity to our trek, we will be in front of two trials that separate the way to Syabrubeshi and Thulo Syabru village. From here we continue our trek crossing the beautiful lush green forest, suspension bridges, and waterfalls to reach the Pahare hotel.

After enjoying our lunch we slowly trek enjoying the magnificent view of Ganesh Himal until we reach Thuylo Syabru village. It is a pretty village with minimal facilities of telephones, internet, and nice lodges.

Day 9

Our day begins after having breakfast at the teahouse. Our trial starts ascending uphill leaving Thulo Syabru village. The trial from the Syabru to Forpang danda climbs over steadily slopes and we pass through Dursagang.

The trial continues less steeply from here, mostly in the forest to the top of the ridge at Foprang Danda where we enjoy our lunch. We will be passing through the checkpoint and continue towards the traditional villages of Garda, Phulung Ghyang, and Chandanbari (the oldest Yak cheese factory in Nepal) before we reach Sing Gompa.

In the evening you may excursion around the popular monasteries of Sing Gompa.

Day 10

After having breakfast at the teahouse we continue our walk slowly begins with the beautiful landscape and fantastic panoramic views of the Himalayas including Langtang Lirung, Annapurna, Hiunchuli, & Ganesh Himal, and so on.

Then we slightly ascend uphill to reach Chlolang Pati and continue our walk to Lauribinayak. After having lunch our walk continues with an impressive view of Gosainkunda Lake. We then continue further via stone cliffs and tiny trials with occasional short downhill towards Gosainkunda Lake. Gosainkunda is one of the major pilgrimages and the Holy Lake of both Hindus and Buddhists of Nepal.

This lake is surrounded by mountains on almost all sides and has a great ensemble of nine other lakes besides it. Every year during Janai Purnima in the month of August, thousands of Hindu pilgrims visit Gosainkunda to take a holy bath.

Day 11

Today is the hardest and longest day of the entire trek because we are passing through the great adventurous pass of Lauribina La pass! After having breakfast we continue our trek with a short excursion around Gosainkunda Lake.

Then we ascend towards the great adventurous pass Lauribina La pass (4,610 m) also known as Gosainkunda Pass. Then we slowly descend down towards Phedi. The Helambu regions begin from Phedi. After having lunch at Phedi we descend to the Melamchi valley.

Then the rough trial takes us towards the small lake of Surya Kunda before reaching Ghopte.

Day 12

After having breakfast at the teahouse, we continue our day descending towards the Mera Kharka. Our trial takes us through numerous uphill and downhill across the dense forest of pine and Rhododendron to reach Tharepati village.

Tharepati is the village that separates the routes of the longer Helambu valley trek. From here the two routes separate one towards the Melamchi Gaun and another towards Kutumsang; we follow the shorter trial of Helambu valley trekking.

The trial descends through the beautiful landscape, Rhododendron forest, and ridges towards the village of Mangengoth.

After having lunch here, we gently descend towards the beautiful Tamang settlements until we reach the beautiful Kutumsang village.

Day 13

Today our day begins after having breakfast at the teahouse. Our day starts descending through classical hills and delightful villages towards Gul Bhanjyang. Giving continuity to our walk, we enjoy the panoramic views of the Himalayas and descend through the ridges, and beautiful Rhododendron forests, towards the village of Thotundanda.

From here we descend through a stone staircase to the teashops at Chipling and Thankune Bhanjyang. Then we trek down towards Pati Bhanjyang-unique settlements of Tamang and Chhetries where we spend our time for lunch.

Thereafter we continue our trek gently climbing up through meadows and growing fields until we reach the small settlements of the Tamang people at Chisapani.

Day 14

Today is the last day of our trek. Our day begins with the early breathtaking sunrise view over the snow-capped mountains where we can witness the panoramic views of mountains ranges including Mt. Gaurishankar, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, Dorje Lakpa, Annapurna, and Langtang ranges.

We start our day after having late breakfast in the teahouse. We slowly trek climbing towards the small village of Borlang which is close to Shivapuri hills. From here our walk descends through the forests, and army barrack, towards the Tamang settlements of Mulkharka village. After a short hike, we reach Sundarijal where we had our lunch.

After having lunch we take a short drive which takes about 1 hour to reach Kathmandu. In the evening, you have a farewell dinner hosted by Wild Spirit Adventures in a typical Nepalese Restaurant along with Nepalese traditional dance to celebrate the successful completion of our journey.

Day 15

Our adventurous journey ends today. Our representatives will easily transfer to you the International airport three hours before your flight schedule with a warm greeting and hospitality hoping you to see next time in Nepal.

If you have a late flight schedule, you can spend the rest of your day relaxing or doing souvenir shopping or personal activities.

If you have more time in Nepal, we can also organize some additional activities like Mt. Everest Mountain Flight, Bungee jumping, Paragliding, Jungle safari, and famous city tours that you are interested in.

Day 12

After having breakfast at teahouse, we continue our day descending towards the Mera Kharka. Then our trial takes us uphill and downhill passing through the dense forest of pine and Rhododendron to reach Tharepati village which offers a magnificent close up views of holy Lake Gosainkunda and surrounding high Himalayan ranges. After having lunch at Tharepati village, our trial passes through pine and Rhododendron forest again along with the impressive view of Helambu Valley. The trial descends until we cross the Melamchi River and followed to the beautiful settlement of Sherpa’s with their unique culture in Melamchi Gaon. Also we visit the biggest and ancient monasteries at Melamchi Gaon. Overnight stay at teahouse in Melamchi Gaon.

Day 13

Our day begins after having breakfast at Melamchi Gaon we descends steeply to the valley floor to cross the bridge and gently trek uphill towards Nakote village. Our trial also passes through forest that leads to Ama Yangri – the highest point of today’s trek.Then our trial goes gently towards beautiful village of Tarke Ghyang. Tarke Ghyang is biggest settlement inhabitant by Sherpa’s with the oldest and biggest monasteries in Helambu region. This village is incredible place to observe mixture of tradition and culture along with spirituality. It is also popularly known as Helambu, named after the Helmu caste. Overnight at teahouse in Tarke Ghyang.

Day 14

After having breakfast, we start our day slowly begins through the flat landscape following the beautiful forest of Rhododendron. Then we head towards the beautiful of Parachin and Ghangyul. Then we descend following the forest, streams and naturally exiting geographical variation towards another beautiful village of Sermanthang. Sermanthang is a pretty Sherpa village popular as oldest and ancient monasteries. After enjoying our lunch at Sermanthang, we descend towards the beautiful village of Kakani. Kakani is a small village situated on the top hill with suburb panoramic views of Himalayas. Overnight stay at teahouse in Kakani.

Day 15

Today is the last day of our trekking. After enjoying our breakfast, we start to descend down towards the Dubachaur village. The trial mostly takes us downhill via paddy fields until we reach the bank of Indrawoti River. Then we cross the small river before we reach the Melamchi Pul Bazaar. After enjoying our lunch at Melamchi Pul Bazaar we catch a bus towards the Kathmandu valley which takes approximately 3-4 hours’ drive. On your Arrival at Bus station at Kathmandu you will be easy transfer towards your respective hotel. At evening, you have a farewell dinner hosted by Wild Spirit Adventures g in a typical Nepalese Restaurant along with Nepalese traditional dance to celebrate the successful completion of our journey. Overnight stay at 3 star rated Hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 16

Our adventurous journey ends today. Our representatives will easy transfer to you towards the International airport three hours before your flight schedule with a warm greetings and hospitality hopping you to see next time in Nepal. If you have more time in Nepal, we can also organize some additional activities like Mt. Everest Mountain Flight, Bungee jumping, Paragliding, Jungle safari and famous cities tours that you are interested in.

Langtang valley and Gosaikunda trek route

Langtang valley and Gosaikunda trek journey starts with a long drive of about 7-8 hours from Kathmandu to Syabrubeshi-the trek starting point. We start our trek passing through the beautiful landscape along with Rhododendron forest, typical villages, farmlands, and dense forest of Rhododendron and oak towards the Lama Hotel.

Then our Langtang valley and Gosaikunda trek trail leads further upward to the Ghoretabela which is famous for the beautiful traditional and ethnic village of Tamang. We move forward towards Langtang Village and continue our walk towards the beautiful village of Kyanjin Gompa.

Then we hike to the highest point of the trek named Tserko Ri to seek the spectacular panoramic views of the Himalayas.Then we descend with the same trial and join the Thulo Syabru village. Then we move further towards the famous villages of Shin Gompa, and Lauribinayak and reach Gosainkunda.

Then we trek through the great adventurous pass of Laruibina La pass to enter the beautiful Helambu region. Then our walk almost goes a circle passing through the beautiful village of Ghopte, Kutumsang, Chisapani, Sundarijal, and towards Kathmandu to end our trip.

In a supported trek, heavy items are carried by porters or yaks and personal belongings that you may need for the day like money, water bottle, rain gear, camera, sun cream and toilet paper etc. should be carried by yourself. So you are briefed to pack items in two different bags.

We will supply complimentary water and wind proof duffel bag which you can use on the trek and is carried by porter/s. The duffel bag is yours to keep after the trek. You can leave your bag with your non-trek items at the hotel in Kathmandu and collect them after the trek.

All the equipments like Base camp tents, kitchen accessories and all the group climbing equipments ( climbing rope, ice screw, somw bar, ice hammer) is provided by the company.
